Amazing First Birth As A Doula!

It was the most amazing, beautiful and eye opening experience. There is something about witnessing the entrance of a new life into this world that takes your breath away and makes you see things in a whole new light. It s also very, very, very addictive.

Baby J was born at 6:06am on Friday the 13th of September (13/09/13) after 11 hours and 6 minutes of drug free labour (mumma used only the bath and from 9cm she used gas - which doesn't count as a drug lol).

Baby J was exactly 5.25kg (11Ib 9oz) at birth, born vaginally - absolutely beautiful, chubby and amazing! And my client didn't tear at all!

I spent over 26 hours awake before I finally crashed and got in 3 hours of sleep before I had to return to reality and pick up my older 2 children from daycare when my husband went to work. The adrenalin did it, it keeps you awake and aware and on your toes, it pounds through your veins and as your excitement peaks so too does the adrenalin.
It was a beautiful experience, and while some parts are a bit hazy now I remember the most important parts, though I am not allowed to share more than a few details outside of a couple of closed/private facebook groups (what I already have typed is all that I can share here and has only been shared with permission from my client).

So from October 5th 2013 I will be taking new clients in Brisbane's North Side - specifically the Kallangur/North Lakes area - so if you reside in those areas and are due from mid December onward I am available and will be able to assist you in your births!

That is all for now, my next blog entry will most likely be made from sunny and warm QLD!

Regards,

Jenna
